Travelling Trips

We love to travel, whether it’s a short road trip or a longer plane trip to a far away exotic location. But too often we don’t plan our trip and the result is frustration and annoyance.

1. For road trips, get the correct maps and plan your route carefully. Not everything will go exactly as planned, but at least you will have a lot fewer nasty surprises.

2. Never, never joke about bombs or terrorists near airport security. Many people have jokingly said that they have a little bomb in their suitcase when they inspect their luggage.

Later, at the police station, they deeply regretted their stupidity.

3. Be immediately suspicious at airports, train or bus stations when someone meets you. It could be a pickpocket. Also be careful if something spills on you or points to a stain on your clothing. These things are designed to distract your attention from what is really going on: the theft of your valuables.

4. While cruises simplify planning with their total cost, you may have to budget for many additional items. These include taxes, surcharges and fees, tips, beverages, some shore excursions, shopping purchases, etc.

5. The most obvious thing to check before going on a trip abroad is the state of the local climate you are going to. You don’t want to come with a shirt if it’s snowing or skin if it’s in the 90s.

6. When traveling with children, take their recent photos with you. If a child gets lost, the photo will prove invaluable in helping to find it.

7. A trip to a theme park will suffer from a lack of careful planning. Some parks are so large that planning is essential. Before you leave, get a list of all the attractions and a map of the park, as well as the opening and closing times.
